Precare Instructions for All PMU Procedures:

𝟏. Absorb (Day of) After the procedure, gently blot the area with a clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. Do this every 5 minutes until the oozing has stopped. Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the lymphatic fluids.

𝟐. Wash (Days 1-7) Wash daily to remove bacteria, build up of product and oils, and dead skin. (Don't worry, THIS DOES NOT REMOVE THE PIGMENT!) Gently wash the area each morning and night with water and gentle soap. Rub the area in a smooth motion for 10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all soap is rinsed away. To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue. DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or exfoliants.

πŸ‘. Moisturize and hydrate (Days 1-7) Apply a tiny, rice grain amount of Aftercare 3 times a day with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area. Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The product should be barely noticeable on the skin. NEVER put the product on a wet or damp tattoo.

πŸ’. Important Reminders Use a fresh pillowcase while you sleep. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of color. No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks. Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one week. DO NOT rub, pick, or scratch the treated area.

𝟱. Important Instructions for Showering Limit your showers to 5 minutes so that you do not create too much steam. Keep your face/procedure area out of the water while you wash your body, then, at the end of your shower, wash your hair.

For Eyeliner

NO water, cleansers, creams, makeup or any other products on treated area for 10 days.

DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring.

Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 3-4 weeks after procedure.

Avoid heavy sweating for the first 10 days.

NO facials, botox, chemical treatments and microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.

Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days.

You may experience slightly puffy to swollen eyes, heavy lids, light sensitivity and bloodshot pupils. Your eyes may feel more swollen than they appear. Please try to sleep in an elevated position to help reduce swelling at night. You may not want to use your best pillowcase the first two nights.

Eyes will be swollen and perhaps β€˜crusty’ upon waking. The swelling will disappear from being in an upright position and increasing circulation to the area. Avoid heavy lifting, physical exertion and crying.

Pigment within the epidermis will begin to flake off in little stitch looking lines, although some people do not notice the exfoliation at all. Do not scratch/ pick!

All shedding should be complete. You’re safe to put your face back in the shower spray.

For Lips

Day of lip tattoo - wash hands thoroughly; dab lips with clean, damp cotton 2-3 times.

Day after lip tattoo procedure - keep lips completely dry from everything.

From the third day until lips heal - continue to keep lips dry and clean; use the cream we provide if needed ( no more one or twice a day); drink through a straw for the first few days; eat clean, dry foods with cutlery to avoid getting the lips dirty (avoid spicy and salty foods); no kissing until the scabs are all gone.

For Areola

When you get home: Remove the dressing and wear a loose-fitting top with no bra to allow the excess fluid to dry out.

The next day: You can shower in the morning, but try to avoid water directly hitting the treated area, then gently pat dry with gauze.

If you want to bathe, avoid soaking the area in the bath water or using bath products.

Apply a daily dressing for the first three days to avoid friction from your clothing and to support the early healing process.

In the first couple of days the tattooed area may form a fine scab – do not pick or peel off the scabbed area as this will result in removal of the color and can cause scarring.

The scab can last for a couple of weeks and you will notice the pigment fade and soften as the scab comes away.
